First Records of Long-winged Conehead in Yorkshire

Hi

I can verify that C. discolor has been found for the first time in Yorkshire. Barry Warrington found 1 male and 1 female earlier this week and we visited the site on 3rd October where we found 2 males stridulating. Subsequent examination of one of the males, including examination of the song, confirms the species.

The site is at Thorne Moors National Nature Reserve close to the Western edge. I will be revisiting the site to try to get a rough estimate of the numbers and extent.
