Description: 

Variable in colour from yellow to dark brown. Females are darker than males. Cerci have 13 segments.

Wings: 

Females have short wings that only partially cover the abdomen. Males have longer wings and can fly.

Food: 

Omnivorous.

Habitat: 

The species is native to Africa and in Britain occurs only indoors.

Phenology: 

Indoors adults may be seen all year round.
