'Growth' on female Metrioptera roeselii

Hi All, this is my first post as I've just joined.

I have a query on a photo I took of M. roeselii recently. Once I opened it up on my PC I noticed a white 'growth' just below the base of the ovipositor. In my ignorance I checked various sources showing physionomy illustrations but none show this. Is this a normal part of the insect [reproductive organ?] or some type of parasite? You can view the photo at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/od0man/7831657744/in/photostream

PS. I tried adding an image to this post as per the instructions, but it wouldn't load. Is there a physical image size/file size limitation?

Cheers,

Steve.
