Description
Medium sized pink to yellow cricket with reddish-brown markings. Hump-backed appearance and very long legs, antennae and palps. About 50 - 80 spines on the hind tibia. Upturned ovipositor. Only active at night.

Both sexes wingless.
Stridulation
Does not stridulate and does not have a hearing organ.
Food
Mainly carnivorous, but probably also feeds on tender plants.
Habitat
Native range is Far East (occurrence in Britain is only occurs in heated greenhouses and garden centres. Eeggs are laid in the soil and hatch after 2-4 months).
Phenology
Adults may be found at any time of the year.
